Palace Belvedere
Palace Belvedere was built in the Landstrasse area of Vienna by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt for Prince Eugene of Savoy. The 'Upper' and 'Lower Belvedere', together with the grounds which connect them, form a remarkable Baroque ensemble. These two palace buildings today house the Austrian Belvedere Gallery. On May 15,1955, in the rooms of the Upper Belvedere, the treaty was signed which created the modern Austrian state we know today.
