Vienna Technical University
5-minute walk from the Hotel Papageno.
Today's Technical University was originally founded by Emperor Franz I in 1815 as the "Royal & Imperial Polytechnical Insitute". In 1872, the institution became the "Technical College", only to be renamed yet again in 1975 as the Technical University.
Most of the university's buildings are located in the city centre of Vienna on the Karlsplatz, in the city's 4th district and close to many important cultural landmarks.
